Breakfast with a Personal Touch
Breakfast at the Orchard House is always the best way to start any day while visiting Nelson County! Wake to the smell of the freshly brewed local Trager Brothers coffee wafting up from the dining room. Pour yourself a hot cup and head out to the front porch to sit quietly and watch the world wake up. You are guaranteed to see a variety of birds, maybe several scampering bunnies, and always the relaxing pond fountain in the distance.
Typically the breakfasts are served in two shifts: our Farmhouse guests are served at 8am, and we are ready for our main house guests at 9am. Each time slot is served a generous multi-course breakfast, with great care taken to preparation by Chef Mike. We are always open to requests for a different breakfast time, and make every effort to accommodate those special requests.
No matter what time you join us for breakfast, it is our goal to insure you feel pampered and special. Our “tables for two” are set with linens, chargers, fresh flowers, extra condiments, and a romantic candle at each table. Traveling with a group? We are happy to set a larger table so you can all enjoy the first meal of your day together, before heading out for your day of adventures. Here to celebrate a special occasion, or just want “something different” for your breakfast experience? Request our “Breakfast on the Porch” package, and we will set a private table for you two on our front porch…not only will we serve you in a romantic setting that can’t be beat, but we will bring out mimosas in addition to your meal.
No matter how or where you choose to spend it, breakfast is always an “event” at the Orchard House. One we hope you will remember fondly long after your stay!
From the Classics, to the Unique
We know breakfast is the “most important meal of the day”, and at the Orchard House, we take breakfast seriously! We serve a homemade, hot, and carefully planned multi-course breakfast each morning of your stay with us. We start each breakfast with some type of fresh fruit and a homemade muffin or our (now famous) cinnamon biscuit. We follow that first course with some type of egg dish, paired with a breakfast meat. Regardless of the menu, we support the wonderful local farm fare available to us here in Nelson County. Our eggs are all from the local family Merrick Farms, our delicious sausage links are delivered by Double H Farms, and our seasonal fruits are carefully chosen at the Nelson County Farmer’s Market each weekend. And who could forget the local coffee brewed right here in Lovingston by the Trager Brothers?
Some of our most popular breakfast main dishes have included: Eggs Benedict with asparagus, Country Skillet, Chocolate Waffles with fresh strawberries and cream (paired with fresh and local scrambled eggs and sausage!), Fried Eggs with Rice, and Blueberry Surprise. We post the menu in our dining room each evening, and always review the proposed dish during initial check-in.
As always, we want your visit to be special and tailored to your individual needs. We are happy to accommodate any special dietary requirements or food allergies pertaining to breakfast. We have several delicious and amazing options for gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan guests, and even those that alert us “they just don’t like pineapple”. Just let us know your preferences when you make your reservation, and we will gladly make it happen!
