Come to the Orchard House to experience country elegance in the heart of Virginia. We are surrounded by authentic experiences, such as hiking, skiing, golfing, wineries, breweries, antiquing, and history. Be as busy as you want to be, or simply rejuvenate by laying in our hammocks, gazing at the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Stay in a historic property offering a glimpse of the past with the luxuries of the present. Lay in the comfy hammocks gazing up at the endless skies, take a dip in the pool, stroll through our one-acre vineyard, relax in the new gazebo, listen to the frogs chirping from the pond, identify the beautiful birds that flit from one birdfeeder to the next, read a book in one of the many Adirondack chairs that graze the front lawn, rock on the sprawling front porch while soaking up our amazing views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

York also has its own flatscreen television with DirectTV, but you may prefer just to stare out the two windows! One of the most popular rooms, the Gala has tremendous views of both the rolling front lawn and pond, and the giant silver maple tree just outside the window. A pedestal sink in the room allows for both guests to easily get ready for the day ahead. A queen sized bed, new recliner, and vintage rocking chair await for your relaxation after you explore Nelson County. Beautiful furnishings and artwork complete the Gala room.
A popular choice, the Black Twig is one of the three original 1874 farmhouse bedrooms. The window overlooks one of the massive trees on the 14 acres, the rolling front yard, the Blue Ridge Mountains, and the pond fountain. Listen to the birds chirp in the morning, and if it rains at night: nothing beats the sound of the rain drops on the farmhouse’s metal roof!
