CHECKIN: Our guided check-in is anytime between 3-7pm. Should you need a later arrival time, please call 434-263-7747 and we’ll provide a four digit entry code to the front door, and leave some lights on in your room. We’ll look forward to seeing you at breakfast!
CHECKOUT: Anytime prior to 11 am.
BREAKFAST: Our homemade, multi-course, chef’s choice breakfast is served each morning of your stay in our main house dining room. We set up a coffee station, including hot water for tea, and our local Trager Brothers coffee brewed fresh each morning. On weekdays, we host one breakfast session at 9 am. On the weekends, we offer breakfast any time between 8:30-9:30 am. Our dining room is set up as private tables for two, and if you are traveling with a group we will set up our center table. We take great pride in our breakfasts, and work hard to honor any food allergies or special dietary requirements. Please make note of these during your initial reservation, so we can prepare accordingly. If you are not able to join us during the breakfast sessions, please let us know so we can provide a “to-go” bag!
SMOKING: Both of our houses are non-smoking. We have containers for smoking outside, and ask that you place butts in those containers. No smoking on our front porches, or anywhere near our historic homes.
CANCELLATION: If your plans have changed for any reason, we will refund your deposit minus a $35.00 processing fee if we are informed outside of two weeks prior to your reservation. If you must cancel within 14 days prior to your scheduled visit, we will refund your deposit minus the $35.00 fee ONLY if we can rebook the room. Cancellation requests are not refunded for FESTIVALS, GROUPS OF SIX OR MORE, GRADUATIONS, or HOLIDAYS.
Reservations in those categories may be charged the balance 30 days prior to their arrival, and refunds will not be credited in the event of a cancellation.
CHILDREN AND PETS: For the enjoyment and comfort of all our guests, we do not accept pets, nor children under the age of 16. We have two cats of our own, but they stay in our owner’s quarters. You may catch a glimpse of them looking out the windows at the birds and bunnies, but they won’t be anywhere else on the property.
MINIMUM STAY: We have a two-night minimum on the weekends. Room rates are based on double occupancy. Virginia sales tax of 5.3% and Nelson County lodging tax of 5% are applied to all guest stays. Four of the rooms on our property can accommodate a twin trundle bed and a third person for the additional nightly fee of $50 plus tax. Arrangements need to be made ahead, and based upon room availability.
POOL: Our new salt-water swimming pool is available seasonally from dawn to dusk. We provide pool towels and plastic glasses for your poolside beverages. There is no lifeguard.
GUEST KITCHEN: Our Farmhouse has a large kitchen that we keep fully equipped for any meal preparation you’d like to conduct while staying with us. We provide dish soap, and a dishwasher and request that you clean up any dishes used each day. The Farmhouse kitchen is available for Farmhouse guests only.
Our main house guests have access to a microwave, a full-size refrigerator, and a Keurig coffee/tea station on the upper floor.
GIFT CERTIFICATES: Are available by phone or on-line. Upon payment, we will email the certificate to your recipient, or directly to you.
SECURITY: Our front door will automatically lock at 9 pm. There is no curfew, and each guest will be provided a 4-digit code to use during their stay. We ask that you lock the deadbolt behind you after 9 pm, for everyone’s comfort and safety.
